Sharayu Date

Creator of inventive, aesthetic vocal and blender of various musical genres; Sharayu Date is one of the most sought out ,versatile and renowned Vocalist from India. Born into a family of musicians, she was provided her first steps into what would be a spiritual and dynamic musical journey throughout her life . A disciple of Vidushi Arati Ankalikar - Tikekar and Vidushi Dr. Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, Sharayu has traveled in India and abroad and won applause from connoisseurs and critics. She actively performs for a variety of private, corporate and public events. She  was youngest participant to inaugurate the first season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Marathi L'il Champs and the finalist in popular reality shows :The Voice India , Sur Nava Dhyas Nava and also starred as a mentor in Singing Star.

All About Me

Sharayu was born in Nagpur to Mukul Date and Anjali Date. She started her formal musical training at the age of three years from her Guru and mother, Anjali Date. Then she started learning Hindustani Classical Music from Vidushi Arati Anklikar-Tikekar and is currently learning from Vidushi Dr. Ashwini Bhide Deshpande. Sharayu is a versatile singer. She has mastery over both classical and semi-classical forms of singing. Her bold, clear voice, brings life to each type of music that she sings. North Hindustani khayal Gayaki, Natyasangeet, Semi-classical forms and light music based on classical are some of the gems in her kitty. A strong and forceful rendition of classical and semi-classical singing is Sharayu’s identity.

In 2008, Sharayu was auditioned for the debut season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Marathi L'il Champs, a competitive music reality show organized by the Zee Marathi television channel. She was one of the final 50 who were selected from amongst several thousand children aged between 8 and 14 across Maharashtra. She sang a wide variety of songs in the competition.

Sharayu Date had participated in the singing reality show The Voice India Season 2 telecasted on &TV. She was a part of Salim Merchant's team on the show. In the show, she had said that she aims to become a multi-lingual playback singer.

Sharayu was a part of the reality show Sur Nava Dhyas Nava Season 1 as a participant. She presented many marathi and hindi songs in this show and impressed the judges Mahesh Kale, Avadhoot Gupte and Shalmali Kholgade. In reality show Singing Star organised by Sony Marathi Sharayu was a mentor for a participant Yashoman Apate. They both sang beutiful song in the season.

Sharayu released “Saiyaan Tori” song written and composed for the first time and sung by herself through Merchant Records- a music label by the Bollywood Music Director Duo Salim- Sulaiman.
